This year, the Talks Stage at Showcase will see an exciting and interesting schedule of event taking place over the three days from Sunday morning through to Tuesday afternoon.

SUNDAY 

TD Dara Calleary, Minister of State for Trade Promotion and Digital Transformation

Showcase will be officially launched by TD Dara Calleary, Minister of State for Trade Promotion and Digital Transformation, at 11am on Sunday morning.

This event will be followed by Aisling Farinella’s fashion and design event ‘The Dancehall’ at 12pm and 3pm. Read more about this event

The much-anticipated Annual Awards Presentation will take place at 4pm on the Talks Stage highlighting the most impressive products at Showcase 2023. 

MONDAY 

Gwen Cunningham, Sustainability & Circular Economy Lead at the National College of Art & Design (NCAD)

On Monday, the events continue with a panel discussion on the 'Circular Economy of Craft & Design' with Gwen Cunningham, Sustainability & Circular Economy Lead at the National College of Art & Design (NCAD), knitwear designer Edel MacBride and Tom Watts, Head of Design at DCCI. This event will take place at 11am. 

This morning event will be followed up by another session in the afternoon - the 'Circular Economy of Craft & Design Part 2' - this time featuring Dave Darcy of One Strong Arm in conversation with Tom Watts, Head of Design at DCCI.

Darcy is the founder of Dublin-based letterpress print studio One Strong Arm and works on the studio's own self-initiated projects and products as well as working closely with designers, artists, agencies, writers, musicians, illustrators and collaborators to create thoughtfully produced work of all kinds.This second session takes place at 4pm. 

Sara Simmonds, CEO of The Conscious Innovator, will be on stage at 12.30pm for a must see talk and Q&A session on how to sell more while wasting less in business. Read more about this event

TUESDAY 

Maryrose Lyons digital marketing expert and founder of Brightspark

Tuesday will see an official visit from Simon Coveney TD Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment to the show where he will address visitors and exhibitors on the Talks Stage at 12.30pm.

Tuesday will also see the launch of DCCI’s Craft & Design Academy with Maria Couchman and Mary Jo Hine of DCCI.

Another session on the Talks Stage not to be missed is entitled 'Save Time & Grow Your Business Using Digital Marketing in 2023' and hosted by Maryrose Lyons. 

Lyons is an expert in digital marketing, the founder of Brightspark and an invited member of the International Academy of Digital Arts & Science. Lyons is a future focused marketer who works at senior management level to advise on digital strategy and with teams to support them to deliver. 

During the pandemic, Lyons mentored over 60 retailers helping them to promote their businesses online and making a considerable difference to their businesses during this very challenging time. 

An experienced and popular speaker, Lyons will share actionable advice that can be put into place immediately to help improve and streamline your digital marketing strategy. This talk will take place at 14.30pm.
